Humanitarian Endeavours

Since 1901 when Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, shared the first Nobel Peace Prize, six more men, one woman and eight different organizations have been rewarded the Prize for their humanitarian work. Nobelprize.org pays tribute to these Nobel Laureates who have dedicated their lives to making a difference – by caring for the sick and the wounded in times of war and peace, by providing a haven for the homeless, by extending a helping hand to alleviate human suffering and by upholding human dignity.
