Social Apps for us are the best. Back in the old days, the web merely used to push content, and provide little in the way of social interaction. Nowadays, if you visit a site that doesnt give even basic social functions, it can be a bit of a disappointment. It's the old 3ev dogma again: it's all about the user.
We build social style intranets that encourage employee/user interaction in much the same way as Facebook does. An intranet should be so much more that a place to display your organisation's health and safety policy and expense forms. The reason Facebook works is because it's easy to use and simple to develop for.
Whilst we do not suggest that our customers should want to go and create "the next Facebook", many useful techniques can be taken from such social networking platforms and integrated into existing web strategy and intranets.
Over the past couple of years we have worked with all web 2.0 APIs such as Flickr, YouTube, Google etc. In 2008 we were showcased by Google in their Google Maps API booklet, our work has also featured on the Google Earth blog.
Social Networking platforms provide organisations with an unprecedented platform for consumer and employee interaction
