From the Ashes of 9/11: College Alum Brian Rafferty Discusses Project Rebirth at Dean’s Lunch Seminar
On March 4, thirteen students from the College gathered with Dean Chester Gillis to welcome an alumnus back to the Hilltop. Brian Rafferty (C’79) returned to Georgetown’s campus to speak at the most recent Dean’s Lunch Seminar, a monthly event planned by the College Dean’s Office.

On February 19th, Georgetown College students and the College Academic Council (CAC) honored Classics department associate professor Josiah Osgood for excellence in teaching.
“Picturing Faith” Photographic Exhibit Visits Georgetown
Curator Colleen McDannell’s evocative exhibition “Picturing Faith: Religious America in Government Photography 1935-1943,” which is on display at Georgetown University from March 22 to April 1, vividly illustrates how Americans embraced religion both during and shortly after The Great Depression.

A Message from Dean Chester Gillis
January 2010 Recently I put large posters in the window of the Dean’s office on the third floor of the Intercultural Center and outside the entrance to the offices in White-Gravenor. The poster asks the question: “Where can a degree from Georgetown College take you?” and answers “Anywhere you want to go!” The poster displays pictures of eight prominent alumni, indicates what they majored in when they were in the College, and states what their profession is today.
The Dean's Lunch Seminars
Throughout the academic year, Georgetown College students are invited to join Georgetown alumni and leading members of the Washington, DC community for lunch and conversation. The College Dean’s Office will host visitors from across a variety of career fields for informal exchange and dialogue about.
