Riksbank to renew banknote and coin series

23/03/2010 The Riksbank has decided to renew and modernise the entire Swedish banknote and coin series. A proposal to the Riksdag (the Swedish parliament) suggests the introduction of a 2-kronor coin and a 200-kronor banknote, and also the replacement of the 20-kronor note by a 20-kronor coin.    Read more

Svensson made a speech with reference to the material for the assessment of monetary policy that the Riksbank produces each year. Riksbank's General Council supports renewal of banknote and coin series but rejects proposal for 20-kronor coin

17/03/2010 The General Council of the Riksbank decided at today’s meeting to support the Executive Board’s proposal to supplement the present banknote and coin series with a 2-kronor coin and a 200-kronor banknote, and to renew the Swedish banknote and coin series. However, they did not consider that the 20-kronor note should be replaced with a coin.   Read more

Riksbank publishes Material for assessing monetary policy

15/03/2010 Today the Riksbank publishes the report "Material for assessing monetary policy 2009". The report contains a compilation and analysis of the monetary policy conducted by the Riksbank, which the Riksdag Committee on Finance assesses every year.

Sveriges Riksbank is Sweden’s central bank and a public authority under the Riksdag, the Swedish parliament.  The Riksbank is responsible for conducting monetary policy, the objective of which is to maintain a low and stable level of inflation. The Bank also has the task of ensuring that payments in the economy can be made safely and efficiently.
