A book that is fun to read is a bonus if it's also informative. That's why I liked Horse Lover's Daily Companion - 365 Days of Tips and Inspiration for Living a Joyful Life with Your Horse.

It's a great book to enjoy with a cup of tea and would also be a nice addition to a new horse lover's library. From the die-cut cover to the ribbon bookmark (shouldn't all books have one?) this another book that you'll want to leave out on the coffee table for when you need a quick 'horse fix'. Have you read Horse Lover's Daily Companion? You're welcome to add your review too.

A forum member recently had a question about the type of insurance he should have if he were to start boarding stable. When it comes to the legalities of horse ownership it's best not to go by 'hear say'. Go right to the folks with the answers. And when you are not sure who those folks are, contact your local state horse council.
Horse councils provide government representation and information about legislation that affects horse owners regardless of discipline or interest. They also provide localized information regarding safety, transport, feeding, zoning, housing, state and tax laws, breeding, riding, emergency planning, health concerns and pest control. Many are involved in the preservation of riding trails and may be involved with various equestrian competitions. If they don't know the answer to your question, chances are they'll know who to refer you to. I've put together a list of all state horse councils with websites so you can easily find the horse council in your state.
