Vanuatu and the Saharawi Republic establish diplomatic relations at Ambassadorial level


Port-Vila, 01/08/2008 (SPS) The Republic of Vanuatu and the Saharawi Arab Democratic repblic decided on Thursday in Port-Vila, to establish diplomatic relations, indicated a joint press release signed by the Minister Delegated by the Minister for Foreign Affairs in Charge of Africa, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat, and Vanuatua’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Georges A. Wells.

"The Government of the Republic of Vanuatu and the Government of the Saharawi Republic, eager to strengthen the good relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, decided to establish diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level", the press release stressed.

The Republic of Vanuatu, an archipelago situated some 1750 km east of Australia, is a Milanese State in the South West the Pacific Ocean. It is limited from the North by New Caledonia, by Fiji Islands in the West and Salomon Islands in the South. (SPS)
