Editing your listing

To make edits to your listing, log into the Local Business Center. You'll see the Locations page with a list of all the listings you have added. On the far right, in the 'Actions' column, click Edit:

This brings you to a page where you can edit basic information about your business, like address and phone number, as well as all the extra information you included when you first submitted it. Your changes appear almost instantly. If you wish to edit a listing that was uploaded as part of a feed, please see this section of the User Guide.

If you see your business in Google Maps and wish to verify that you are the business owner so that only you can make edits, you'll have to claim it.

If you're not the business owner, but still notice an error in a listing, then you can use the Community Edits feature to make changes. To learn more about Community edits, check out this section of the Maps User Guide.

Removing your listing

To remove your listing, sign in to the Local Business Center. Under the 'Actions' column for the listing you wish to remove, click Delete.

You'll be brought to a page with two options, as shown below:

• Remove this listing from Google Maps: This will remove your business listing from Google Maps, and requires verification. Your listing will remain in your Local Business Center account, should you wish to add it again later.
• Remove this listing from my Local Business Center Account: If you associated a listing with your account by mistake, select this button. Verification isn't necessary. This listing may, however, continue to display on Google Maps if provided by other sources.

Once you have made your selection, click Save Changes. If you chose to remove your listing from Google Maps, this should take place within a few hours.

Removing or editing a feed listing

Editing or removing a feed listing involves creating and uploading a new feed. The type of feed you should upload depends on what kind of changes you wish to make:

• A 'Complete' feed will overwrite any previous 'Complete uploads,' so can be used to make changes to existing listings. Just make sure that you include all of your listings in the new upload; listings that you've previously uploaded that aren't in your new upload will be considered inactive.
• An 'Addition' feed won't affect business listings you've previously uploaded, but will simply add to your current list.
• A 'Deletion' feed should contain only businesses you wish to remove, as they will be deleted from Google Maps.
