2009 Champagne, Frizette, and Jamaica Handicap

There were 3 Grade 1 races on the final Saturday of Breeders' Cup preps at Belmont Park. Homeboykris (left) won the Champagne for the juvenile colts, Devil May Care won the Frizette for the fillies, and Take the Points won the Jamaica for the 2-year-old turf horses. 2009 Kelso Handicap, Miss Grillo and Pilgrim Stakes

The weather at Belmont Park was much improved on Sunday, although the turf was still soft, causing the races to be moved to the main track with short fields as a result. Le Grand Cru won the Kelso, Dad's Crazy won the Miss Grillo, and Eskendereya won the Pilgrim. Get the results, chart, and photos here.

Sea the Stars wins the 2009 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe

3-year-old sensation Sea the Stars overcame a troubled trip against older horses to win the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe by 2 lengths. Youmzain was second for the third consecutive year while French runner Cavalryman was third. Also on Saturday, Goldikova was upset in the Prix de la Foret won by Varenar.
