Reporter Jessica Yadegaran of the
Contra Costa Times has a great overview piece online at
Mercurynews.com, talking about thyroid diagnosis and how to avoid becoming a victim of "the numbers game" with doctors who follow different thyroid test standards. She also tackles a number of issues rarely mentioned in the media, including doctors who blame thyroid symptoms on age, doctors who hand out antidepressants in the face of thyroid symptoms, and doctors who send people with thyroid symptoms to psychologists instead of for thyroid tests. It's a surprisingly honest piece, which also features one of the smartest thyroid experts on the scene these days, Kent Holtorf, MD. Read

Chicago Sun Times, talking about how he copes with the reality that, after numerous surgeries, he can no longer eat and drink anymore. The column, titled,
Nil by Mouth, is a must-read!

Even my father down in Florida is complaining because the temperature there is only in the 50s!
So, when temperatures drop, what's a thyroid patient to do? Many of us are already ultra-sensitive to the cold, and this kind of prolonged wintry weather can pose a challenge. BRRRRR!!!!!!! It's time for my 10 specific cold weather tips for thyroid patients!
(And don't miss a chance to share your own tips, ideas, and success stories as a thyroid patient surviving and thriving in winter cold!)

But it doesn't have to be that way. Many thyroid patients have found ways to "winterize" themselves, their health, and their thyroid treatment, so they can enjoy better health during the colder months.
Share your tips, ideas, and thoughts about how thyroid patients can get through the cold, and read about other patients' ideas now!
