Georgetown senior Kenny Mitchell continues to have a stellar senior season as he broke his own school record in the 100-meter dash on Saturday night at the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz., hosted by Arizona State University.
It was a tale of two halves for the No. 14 Georgetown University women's lacrosse team Sunday afternoon as the Hoyas downed the University of Louisville Cardinals (7-5, 1-3 BIG EAST) 17-13. Georgetown played an outstanding first half holding a 15-6 advantage at half and opening the game with an 8-1 run. Georgetown is now 7-5 on the season and 5-0 in BIG EAST play.
WASHINGTON - Demetria Cipriano (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Springs Charter) doubled to drive in the game-tying run in the bottom of the 11th inning and Kristi Preuss scored on a wild pitch to give the Georgetown University softball team (15-20, 5-4 BIG EAST) a 2-1 victory over Pittsburgh (20-16, 4-4 BIG EAST) in the conclusion of a three-game series on Sunday at Guy Mason Field.
