Bloomberg is creating a new web-based information product that will report on, analyze and quantify the impact of government actions on business and industry. It will bring the same unparalleled level of fact-based, objective reporting and analysis to policymaking as it has provided to the financial community for the past 27 years.

The Role
Bloomberg is seeking a Multimedia Producer with 3-5 years of journalism experience as a multimedia producer. This producer must be proficient with Web development tools: HTML, Flash and Javascript as well as video, audio and photography editing. Experience with data visualization and animated graphics is a plus. The ideal candidate should have experience at a daily news organization with a background in business or government journalism. He or she will work closely with other members of the online team as well as editors, reporters and analysts. Additional responsibilities include:
- Build creative multimedia applications and widgets to enhance news stories
- Parse large quantities of data and display in a consumable mixed-media format
- Responsible for the video and audio elements added to stories
- Work closely with editors and reporters on story development
- Collaborate with the graphics and photos editors and online team on display and production
- Coordinate with other audio-visual teams at Bloomberg News
- Develop strategy for ways the site can expand into new areas of interactivity
- Opportunity for shooting and editing original video

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- At least 3-5 years of journalism experience as a multimeda producer
- Strong web development skills, including HTML, Flash and Javascript as well as video, audio and photography editing
- Proficient video and audio editing software like ProTools, SoundTrack Pro, Final Cut Pro or their equivalents
- Writing and editing skills
- Experience working in a real-time news environment
- Skills in shooting video or recording audio a plus
- Demonstratable attention to detail, organizational skills
- Ability to both be a self-starter and to work under deadline pressure
- An entrepreneurial and energetic approach to the job
- A good communicator, collaborator and team player
- Knowledge of the government, economy, financial markets and industry is a plus
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, later evenings or occasionally weekends
