Bloomberg is creating an exciting new information product that will report on, analyze, and quantify the impact of government actions on business and industry. This new product will be marketed to government agencies including Congress, Beltway influencers (lobbyists, associations, etc.), and business leaders (C-suite executives, government sales, government affairs, etc.) in the industries that are most impacted by government actions. Bloomberg will bring the same unparalleled level of fact based, objective reporting and analysis to Washington, DC as it has provided to the financial community for the past 27 years.

The Role
The Spend Product Manager will lead the initial and ongoing development of US Federal Government Contracts, Grants, and Budget content, functionality, and data. The person in this role will be the go to subject matter expert for all issues related to Federal Government spend process, data sources, competitive products, and use cases. This individual will serve as the main point of contact for other departments and proactively work with R&D;, Design, Data, and Sales to envision, design, develop, and test new product content and functionality. The Spend Product Manager will lead the expansion of Bloomberg Government functionality and content into state level spend and foreign government spend.
The Spend Product Manager will:
- Determine the content needs for each industry area and identify public and private sources
- Design product attributes based on customer feedback and existing competitive products
- Establish relationships with partners and customers to evaluate product and solicit feedback
- Analyze multiple product feedback channels to identify core work flows and sources of value, as well as improvement opportunities
- Partner with R&D;, Design, and Global Data to manage ongoing product development
- Understand all client responsibilities, high value workflows, and unmet needs
- Conduct competitive research and identify where Bloomberg can create unique product offerings

Qualifications
- BS/BA in Politcal Science or related degree from a top tier school
- Knowledge of Federal Government contracts and grants, and the Congressional budget
- Past experience in Contract Management or Capture Management for a federal contractor preferred
- Background and experience with Agile or Iterative development
- Demonstrable attention to detail and organizational skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate value propositions to leaders in the public and private sectors
- Can do attitude and comfort working in an extremely fast paced environment
- Time management and prioritization skills for scope, resource and schedule management
- Creative problem solver
- Strong personal initiative, good judgment, and impeccable ethics; desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment
- Experience in Healthcare, Energy, Defense, Infrasturcure, Transportation, or Technology industries is a plus
