Undergraduate Students
Clinical Observation
All undergraduate majors are required to complete a minimum of 25 hours of clinical observation. These observations may be face-to-face or recorded. The goal is to provide students with examples of a broad range of clinical activities including diagnostic evaluations and treatment with individuals having a variety of communication disorders across the life span. Ideally, all observation should be of professional speech-language pathologists or audiologists.
Clinical observations are required in the following courses:
CDIS 4133 Aural Rehabilitation
CDIS 4323 Language Disorders in Children
CDIS TBA Communication Disorders in Adults
CDIS 4413 Speech Disorders in Children
CDIS 4022 Clinical Methods and Issues
CDIS 4010 Clinical Practicum
Additional observation hours may be required for other courses.
