The copper-coloured 50-öre coins minted in 1992 and onwards will cease to be legal tender after 30 September 2010.
However, after this date, it will be possible to redeem the coins at banks until 31 March 2011.

50-öre coin minted from 1992 onwards
The obverse of the coin shows the lesser national coat of arms without the escutcheon and the year the coin was struck underneath.
On the reverse is the figure 50. Above the figure is the text SVERIGE (Sweden) and below is the text ÖRE.
The edge is smooth. The coin is copper-coloured.
The coin is designed by artist Bo Thorén.
