University President’s Symposium: Athletics in the Academy, Community and Society

Join President John J. DeGioia for a discussion about athletics at Georgetown, and the impact of sports on campus, community and society.  President DeGioia will be joined by John Thompson III, coach of the men’s basketball team, and Ted Leonsis (C’77), owner of the Washington Capitals. The event will take place on Saturday, June 5, from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in Gaston Hall.

Participate in Reunion's Service Project

Thank you to all who participated in Hoyas Give Baxa! events across the country in March and April - read a recap and view pictures from the events.  Continue your service by participating in this year’s community service project. Donate a new children’s book (grades K-12) to support the literacy programs of Georgetown University’s Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching and Service. New books will be collected at reunion check-in (located in Healy Hall), at the All-Class Family Picnic and the Storytelling Hour on Saturday.

This year we are also collecting book donations to benefit students at the Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School in Washington, D.C. You can select and donate a book in advance of the weekend through Amazon.com. The library, English and history departments have compiled a wish list of most-needed novels, reference and audio books, so you can easily select a title (or a few), purchase and ship your gift directly to the high school in just a few easy clicks. Click here for a direct link to the wish list registry.

Send an e-card to spread the word about Reunion!

The list of alumni planning to attend Reunion Weekend keeps on growing! If friends aren't on the list, send them an e-card invitation and encourage them to come home to the Hilltop.
