A record number of alumni are expected to return to Georgetown for Reunion Weekend on June 3-6. In addition to class parties, notable events this year include seminars commemorating the legacies of iconic Georgetown faculty and panel discussions exploring career-related issues. On June 4, The Legends of Georgetown series will honor the late Carroll Quigley on the 100th anniversary of his birth. From 1941 to 1976, Quigley helped shape the lives of students in many ways, including through his highly regarded Development of Civilization course. Professor of History Emerita Dorothy Brown will join staff and alumni to discuss the mark made by his work.

At 40 Years: The Dean Peter Krogh Digital Foreign Affairs Archive, Peter Krogh will examine foreign policy challenges that arose during his tenure as dean of the School of Foreign Service from 1970 to 1995, sharing his own insights on these issues and personal stories of major figures in international relations. The event will be held on June 5.

Career Fulfillment

Georgetown’s Alumni Career Services is co-sponsoring several events. The unique challenges women face in their careers is the subject of Overcoming Obstacles and Bouncing Back: Strategies for Women's Career Success, a panel discussion on June 4 featuring successful alumnae such as MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell (C’95, S’03) and Moira Bailey (C’80) from People magazine. The Making Your Passion Your Career event on June 5 will feature alumni who have turned their interests into a successful occupation. Alumni from the Baby Boomer generation may find inspiration in Living Without Borders: Enjoying the Best Half of Your Life moderated by Rev. Philip Boroughs, S.J. on June 5.

Virtual Connections

The Reunion website provides opportunities for all alumni, regardless of whether they plan to attend reunion, to reconnect with each other—including through an online book club. Alumni can also view videos of fellow Hoyas sharing their Healy Hall stories and contribute their own memories.
