Welcome

The mission of the Citizens Association of Georgetown is to preserve the historic character, to develop the aesthetic values of Georgetown as a place in which the Nation's Capital was planned, to help protect the interests of the residents and homeowners, and to assist in making it a pleasant place in which to live. The Citizens Association of Georgetown has, in one form or another, been representing the interests of Georgetown residents in local affairs for more than a century. The organization traces its roots to 1878, when the Georgetown Citizens Association was established as the District of Columbia's first civic group. Read more here...

We have a very engaged Board of Directors and active Committees working on historic preservation and zoning, Alcoholic Beverage Control issues, public safety, beautification, Concerts in the Parks, the CAG Fall Gala, traffic, parking, utilities, and more. CAG also sponsors a Public Safety Program that places private security guards on patrol in our neighborhood to deter crime.
