Georgetown University

Step 1

Step 1: Preparation of supporting documents

Gather the materials you need for your application.

The EHLS Application requires supporting documentation. Please prepare as follows:

  • Write a complete resume.
  • Request a copy of your transcript from the U.S. or non-U.S. educational institution where your highest degree was earned. If you attended a non-U.S. university, please have your degree evaluated by an educational credential evaluation service. Visit http://www.naces.org/members.htm for a list of evaluation companies.
  • Select 2 or 3 professional references (people who will write a recommendation letter for you). One recommendation should be from a current supervisor, if possible. Make sure you have up-to-date contact information (including email addresses) for all your references.
  • Sign up for your application telephone interview as soon as possible. This brief telephone interview will be in English. Telephone interviews must be completed between June 1 and July 9, 2010. When you sign up for an interview time, CAL will send you a confirmation message via email. You submit a copy of this email message with your application materials.
Use a land line when calling for your interview, not a cell phone. If you use a cell phone and there are problems with the signal, the interviewer may not be able to hear your responses.
Your scheduled time is Eastern time. If you are calling from the Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zone, please adjust your appointment time accordingly.
If you have difficulty scheduling an interview, or if the available interview times will not work for you because of your physical location, please contact ehls@cal.org so that they can help you resolve the issue.
