It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Safadi Foundation USA Website.  Safadi Foundation USA is a registered 501 ( c ) (3) public charitable tax-exempt organization.  We intend to offer objective, accurate and qualitative information about the foundation and its work in Lebanon and the United States.  We hope that you will become familiar with our mission and consider increasing your involvement to support our work.

Our mission is to build a national and strategic framework for Lebanon’s human development. We are committed to supporting our vision for an active civil society that can play a substantive role in the long-term capacity building of the Lebanese state.  This generational commitment will help to initiate institutional, political, judicial and economic reforms that are the cornerstone of a just and meritocratic society.

We aim to accomplish this goal through a variety of approaches.  Expanding relationships with academic & policy think tanks and human development related organizations will help ensure that Lebanon’s human development priorities are well established in such organizations.  It will also introduce the unique ability and strong local capacity of the Safadi Foundation and other civil society organizations based in Lebanon to implement projects on the ground.  In addition, the foundation will serve as an educational resource among policymakers and government officials for sustained economic development assistance to Lebanon based on objective analysis, research and policy guidance.  Finally, initiating creative ways to unite and strengthen the Lebanese Diaspora relationship with each other and their homeland.  Such activities will enhance Lebanon’s long-term stability and overall human development needs by encouraging the growth of viable democratic institutions, good governance and citizen participation.
