The Georgetown chapter of Psi Chi maintains a strong emphasis on academic scholarship. As part of its efforts to encourage academic achievement, Psi Chi offers annual research awards for independent research projects, guest speakers on career advice, involvement with regional psychology conferences, and joint activities with the Psychology Students Association. The Psychology Honors Thesis Program provides enriched research training for a small group of the most motivated and accomplished undergraduate psychology majors. The Honors Program provides students the opportunity to be immersed in the research process under the mentorship of a faculty member. Students interact closely with their faculty member to complete a research project that constitutes a novel contribution to the psychological sciences.
