Verizon's top-tier Android devices, the HTC DROID Incredible and newly launched Motorola DROID X, are both receiving OTA software updates. According to Boy Genius Report, the Incredible will be getting some much anticipated Android 2.2 Froyo love in the next few weeks, while the X's upgrade will merely smooth out some kinks in the handset.

As for the Incredible, BGR received a tip from an HTC e-mail that promised an upgrade including Froyo by "the end of the month/first part of August". Other upgrade highlights are 802.11n Wi-Fi support, 3G Mobile Hot Spot, a couple new HTC widgets, 720p video recording, and Skype.
Both handsets are available from Verizon Wireless for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and a qualifying two-year service agreement. The devices are very similar in features and form factor, but the Droid X boasts a larger 4.3" screen that rivals
Sprint's EVO 4G. According to Verizon's website, both devices are currently out of stock and will begin shipping again on August 3. Did someone say "
