Housing Information

Please refer to the Housing Website for the most updated information.

All students who will live on campus should complete a Living Preference Questionnaire. This questionnaire will be used either by students participating in CHARMS or by the Housing Office to match roommates. The deadline for completing the Living Preference Questionnaire is 5:00 p.m. EDT Monday, June 14, 2010 for freshmen. Questionnaires will be accepted after this date, but we may not be able to honor all preferences. Transfer students will have until Monday, July 12, 2010 to complete the Living Preference Questionnaire as they will not use CHARMS.

The Office of Housing Services also uses an online program for incoming Freshmen called CHARMS (Campus Housing Roommate Matching System), which allows students the opportunity to select their own roommate. Students are not required to participate in this program, and those who do not will be matched with roommates by the Housing office based on answers to the questions on the Living Preference Questionnaire. (Please note: Transfer students do not participate in CHARMS.)

All students should hear about their housing assignment in early August.

Move-In Information

Please go to the New Student Move-In Page on the Georgetown University Housing website for the most correct an updated information regarding move-in 2010. If you have any questions, please call 202-687- 4560 or e-mail them at: campushousing@georgetown.edu.

New Student Move-In will be conducted over a two-day period, either Friday, August 27 or Saturday, August 28, 2010 depending upon residence hall assignment. During Move-In hours, Move-In Aides and New Student Orientation staff will assist you in getting settled. We ask that you pack and clearly label all of your belongings with name, hall and room number so that they can be unloaded into carts and transported to you room. Please be aware that the law in the District of Columbia requires that we recycle all boxes and packing materials. It would be helpful if you do not use the Styrofoam peanut packing material since it does not recycle. You will be notified of your assignment and scheduled arrival date the first week of August.
