The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service (SFS) is the centerpiece of Georgetown University's commitment to educate students for careers in international affairs. Its unique undergraduate program, established in 1919, is grounded in the study of liberal arts, focused on international affairs and approached from an interdisciplinary perspective. The Georgetown University School of Nursing and Health Studies has a tradition of excellence in the education of health care professionals, providing leaders for the nation and the world. The school offers the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) for traditional college students, for registered nurses returning for advanced education and for those who already hold a college degree in another field. The Graduate Program offers the Master of Science (M.S.) in five specializations: Integrated Health Systems for those with or without a nursing degree, and advanced practice degrees in Nurse Anesthesia, Nurse Midwifery, Family Practice and Acute Care.

Georgetown University Law Center prepares its graduates to excel in a range of legal careers from private practice to teaching and public service of all kinds. It is an educational institution dedicated to the principle that law is but a means, justice is the end. The specific mission of the Georgetown University Medical Center is the advancement of health through research in the clinical and biomedical sciences, the education of future leaders in medical and nursing practice and academia, and the provision of compassionate and scientifically competent patient care and service to the Washington community and the nation.

The Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies provides a Georgetown education to students at every stage of learning, including high school programs for adolescents; summer school programs for college students; bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree programs; certificate programs for professionals; and continuing education courses for those age 55 and older. The School offers an undergraduate degree in Liberal Studies, a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies degree, and a Doctor of Liberal Studies degree, the first doctorate of its kind in the world. The school also offers Master of Professional Studies degrees in journalism, real estate, public relations/corporate communications, sports industry management, human resources management, technology management, and disability studies.

The Georgetown University Center for Continuing and Professional Education, part of the School of Continuing Studies, empowers individuals and organizations seeking to make meaningful, positive, and lasting change through professional education. The Center offers open enrollment, noncredit professional certificate programs and courses as well as customized corporate programs in communication, leadership, management, and technology.

Cultural immersion and a rigorous academic experience abroad have become part of the Georgetown tradition of liberal education. Since 1972, Georgetown has created a network of over 70 programs in cooperation with partners worldwide. These programs have their own character, marked by the curricula of the host universities and the cultural milieu of the cities in which they are located.
