Nordegren's hair fell out due to stress and she suffered insomnia and weight loss as she struggled to cope with news of his affairs. "The word 'betrayal' isn't strong enough," she said in an interview with People magazine.
"I've been through hell. It's hard to think you have this life and then all of a sudden - was it a lie?"
The 30-year-old former nanny had no idea that her husband was a serial cheat and was "blindsided" when it emerged that the golfer had affairs with a string of women.
"I never suspected, not a one. For the last three-and-a-half years, when all this was going on, I was home a lot more with pregnancies, then the children and school," said the mother of Sam, three, and 19-month-old Charlie.
"I felt stupid as more things were revealed - how could I not have known anything? The word 'betrayal' isn't strong enough. I felt embarrassed for having been so deceived. I felt betrayed by many people around me."
Woods' private life began to unravel when he crashed his car outside the family home in Florida last November.
It was rumoured that Nordegren hit her husband with a golf club after learning of his affair with nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel. Nordegren dismissed the rumours however.
Initially, Nordegren tried to save the marriage but realised it could not continue. She added that she hopes to forgive him one day.
The divorce was finalised this week and Nordegren received a hefty settlement, which some estimates put at over £100 million.
