Contributors

The success of any open-source project lies with the community contributing its collective energy, knowledge, enthusiasm, and effort. We would like to recognize the groups below who contribute to the DSpace platform and the broader community.

DSpace Committers Group

Leading the DSpace community's development work is a group of dedicated developers and users called the DSpace Committers. The Committer Group is responsible for applying the various fixes, patches and new functionality to the core DSpace code and organizing the new releases. They also have the ultimate responsibility for the shape and direction of the DSpace software, as well as its future architecture and design.

Code Contributors

There are many developers within the DSpace community who contribute code to the platform. These contributions include simple bug fixes and patches or may add new enhancements or functionality to the codebase. Active code contributors also consult with the Committer Groups to share ideas and future development plans.

DSpace Global Outreach Committee

The primary goal of the DSpace Global Outreach Committee (DGOC) is to help identify or develop resources and tools for the DSpace user community world-wide. The committee also aims to offer view points from the repository manager/DSpace administrator perspective to the Committer/Contributors and the DuraSpace organization. The requirement to serve on the committee is the ability and interest in building resources and a strong connection with the user community in their country.

DSpace Ambassador Program

The DSpace Ambassador Program seeks to identify a volunteer in every country or region to be a point of contact for organizations just getting started with DSpace. These Ambassadors help new or potential users with general questions about DSpace as well as providing guidance on additional resources available in the larger DSpace community. Ambassadors are also encouraged to help build the DSpace user network within their country. The Ambassador role is primarily for those serving as repository managers or administrators at their organization, although anyone with DSpace knowledge and experience is eligible.
