Georgetown Receives Largest-Ever Gift

Georgetown University announced that it has received the largest philanthropic gift in its history, an $87 million endowment to support medical research at the university’s medical center. The gift originated in a $1.2 million charitable trust established by the will of the late Harry J. Toulmin in 1965.

Doctor and musician

Dr. Rupa Marya spends half her year as a practicing physician in San Francisco, and the other half touring with her band, Rupa & the April Fishes, whose mix of French chanson, Latin grooves, Gypsy swing and Indian ragas has been called “ecstatic and powerfully evocative” by the Los Angeles Times.
