Prizes
The Woodrow Wilson School offers four prizes for senior theses of distinction written by concentrators:
Myron T. Herrick Prize, awarded to the writer of the best senior thesis in the School;
Woodrow Wilson School Prize, awarded to the writer of a thesis of unusual merit;
Larkin Prize, awarded to the writer of the best thesis in the field of political economy, or on a broadly interdisciplinary subject in which economics plays the most important part.
Richard H. Ullman Prize, awarded to the senior who writes the best senior thesis on United States foreign policy.
Prizes are awarded by a specially appointed School faculty committee, which weighs the relative merits of all theses nominated for prizes. Prizes are presented at the Class Day ceremony.
Copies of prize theses and prize nominees from the class of 1993 through the class of 2009 are available in the Program Office for examination.
In addition to the thesis prizes, the School awards three departmental prizes:
Stokes '54 Dean's Prize, awarded to the senior who has made the most significant contribution to the Undergraduate Program and to the School;
Class of 1924 Award, awarded to the senior whose contribution to the PTF in both oral and written presentation has been judged most outstanding;
Gale F. Johnston Prize in Public Affairs, awarded to the senior who has shown both great improvement and achieved excellence in work in WWS.
Woodrow Wilson School Undergraduate Program Preceptor Award, Awarded to a graduate student whose contribution as a preceptor in a Woodrow Wilson School undergraduate course has been judged the most most outstanding.
