Work at the Riksbank

The Riksbank’s decisions affect the Swedish economy and our work attracts attention and is scrutinised daily by the media.  The Riksbank follows developments in other economies and monitors financial events around the world. We cooperate with other central banks and represent Swedish interests in international bodies. In all, our employees participate in more than 100 international committees.

The majority of those who work at the Riksbank are qualified economists. All types of economist work at the Riksbank, not just macroeconomists. The work is mainly focused on qualified analysis in the fields of monetary policy and financial stability. We usually recruit individuals with a couple of years’ work experience. Other professional categories at the Riksbank include system scientists, lawyers, public relations officers and administrators.

We endeavour to be a workplace that offers plenty of scope for development, where our employees can combine their high professional ambitions with their private lives. Job mobility is high and there is plenty of opportunity to develop within the organisation.

We are looking for employees who can take initiative and who wish to be party to social progress and to important decisions that are of significance to many. We expect commitment, drive and considerable interest in the economy.
