The Bible, of course. But I also count "The Iliad," "Parzival," and the "Grimms' Tales."

If you could dine with a well-known figure, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Well, I'd love to talk to the unknown author of "The Heliand."

If I weren't a professor, I think I would be doing other priestly work.
