What others think about it
"The ability to listen to the segments at any time is a tremendous benefit. Tom covers a lot of ground in the world of finance and the real time broadcast happens at an inconvenient part of the day for me. Without this service I would miss the interviews that interest me most. I download all the episodes daily and listen to them when I have time (e.g. on the commute, while exercising or late at night).
Tom has excellent access to Wall Street research and his educated questioning is welcome in a world of talking heads. Moreover, the fact that these segments are available in an on-line library makes them a useful research tool in and of themselves. I can go back and listen to all of the interviews that Tom has done with a particular guest and evaluate that guest's commentary
- Peder C. Johnson, CFA
"Tom Keene has an extraordinary talent for getting incredibly intelligent people to speak frankly about what they really believe. I find the 24-hour cable news mode of media unwatchable because everyone is always on message. With Tom's shows, they (most of the time) clearly feel comfortable saying exactly what they think.
I started listening to Bloomberg on the Economy several years ago, right about the time the economic collapse appeared to be inevitable. Tom's interviews helped me better understand what was going on during that time. I'm only 31, and I'm a web designer by trade who doesn't really invest, so I'm probably not the assumed demographic for Tom's shows, but I listen regularly, again, because I know I can get good, honest, spin-free content."
- T O'Connor
"The iPod format is great! It is really nice to get home at the end of the day and listen to the interviews with the news, weather, traffic report, and commercials edited out. I keep a Word document open when listening, so as not to miss the many "pearls" which usually come from each day's interviews.
The thing I like most about T.K.O.D. is the historical perspective that Tom and Ken bring to the interviews. They are both very good at having the guests relate the events of the day to what has gone before."
- Bill Krum
"It's the type of discussion I think is useful for somebody like me."
- Bill Gross, Co-Chief Investment Officer, Pacific Investment Management Company.
"I listen to them every morning."
- Byron Wien, Vice Chairman, Blackstone Group
