Mr. Burns Sucks in Real Life Too

Mr. Burns refuses to ride with SimpsonsThe long awaited "Simpsons Ride" will open at Universal Studios Hollywood next month - but don't expect Smithers to be its flamboyant host. In fact, a whole slew of characters won't be featured - namely Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns and his man Smithers - all voiced by Harry Shearer. Not so exxcccellent.

Early rumors had the ride's theme, allegedly called Project FISH (after Blinky, the 3-eyed toxic waste critter), focusing around Burns' power plant, but Shearer's decision not to participate changed all that. Instead, the ride will have a Krustyland theme where Homer and crew are strapped into a wacky teen-operated "thrilltacular". Hilarity ensues.

A rep for Mr. Burns, er Shearer, says the actor did not lend his voice due to scheduling and availability conflicts.

Universal Studios sucks. Better parks are out there!

2.

Give the guy a break. He's helped make the most badass TV show of all time and you are saying he sucks? Because he didn't want to be involved in an amusement park?

Big deal, quit being douchebags.

3.

Why, after all these years, are they just now doing a ride based on this show? It's about time to pull the plug on it anyway!

4.

But what's fishy is that Krustyland makes more sense as a theme park attraction than the power plant.

Is that the whole story?

5.

I heard this guy was a total douch bag anyway. Besides, Krusty is WAY cooler than Burns.

6.

If it weren't for the Simpson's, Shearer would be working behind the counter at Toy R Us selling Simpson dolls and accessories.

7.

Harry Shearer is the BIGGEST jerk. I've heard him interviewed & was surprised at how rude he was. He was nasty on "Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me," on NPR, & on "Realtime with Bill Maher." A major creep.

8.

They should pull the plug on Mr. Burns .. ppppfttt !!!!

9.

I feel compelled to say, "Oh, who cares?"

10.

LOL- what a feeble excuse- "unavailable"? PHONE IT IN, dude!

The problem, no doubt, was money... Poor Harry, so underpaid.....
