Peter Horrocks
Peter Horrocks is the Chair of the BBC World Service Trust Board of Trustees. He is Director of the BBC Global News division which brings together BBC World Service, the BBC World News television channel, the BBC's international facing-online news services, BBC Monitoring, and BBC World Service Trust.
He has worked for the BBC since 1981. He has held senior management and editorial posts in television, radio and online, all with a strong emphasis on the BBC's journalism.
Before taking up his current post, Peter had previously been Head of TV News from September 2005 until BBC News went multimedia in November 2007. He then became Head of the BBC's Multi Media Newsroom until taking up his current post. He had also been the BBC's Head of Current Affairs.
George Alagiah
George Alagiah is the presenter of the BBC Six O'Clock News, having started on the programme in January 2003. He also presents World News Today on BBC World News.
Before going behind the studio desk, George was one of the BBC's leading foreign correspondents, recognised throughout the industry for his reporting on some of the most significant events of the last decade.
He became a Trustee of the BBC World Service Trust in April 2010.
Bhupendra Mistry
Bhupendra Mistry has served in senior positions in community development and regeneration within central and local government, and in the not-for-profit sector in Birmingham, London and the North West of England. Currently, he is a board member of Carnegie UK Trust, the Harvest Housing Group, and the Home Office Advisory Board - Futurebuilders. He is also a Specialist Advisor to the Board of Leicester Regeneration Company on matters relating to community engagement and social and economic development.
Michael C McCulloch
Michael is a Member of the Investment Committee of Europolis Invest AG, a co-investment of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Investkredit Bank AG of Austria, to develop a commercial property portfolio in Central and Eastern Europe. He chairs the Board of two NGOs: BEARR Trust, which supports social reform and NGOs in Russia and Eurasia; and Riders for Health, which promotes reliable transport for health care in Africa. He is also a Trustee of British Consultancy Charitable Trust, which provides senior volunteers for enterprise development.
Professor J Patrick Vaughan, CBE
J Patrick Vaughan is professor emeritus in epidemiology and public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He has a wide research experience in communicable diseases, maternal and child health, and in health systems in Bangladesh, Brazil, India and Tanzania. He has published more than 120 articles in international scientific journals and coauthored nine books on public health. He has had extensive consultancy experience with many international agencies, including WHO, UNICEF, UNAIDS, GAVI and DFID.
Richard Manning
Richard Manning has worked in international development since joining the Department for International Development's (DFID) ancestor, the Ministry of Overseas Development, in 1965. He was Director General first at ODA then DFID from 1996-2003. From June 2003 to January 2008 he was Chair of the Development Assistance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). His current positions include chairing the Boards of the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) and the Health Metrics Network.
Susan Robinson King
Susan Robinson King is Vice President, External Affairs, Director of Journalism Initiative, Special initiatives and Strategy at the Carnegie Corporation of New York. She is responsible for external relations and for devising strategies to ensure the Corporation's work has an impact on society. She oversees the Corporation's communications, including its publications, website and media and dissemination grant program. She leads the Corporation's Journalism Initiative, which focuses on university based journalism education, including its role in preparing the next generation of media leaders and its commitment to strengthening journalism's seminal position in a democratic society.
Richard Thomas
Richard is the Chief Operating Officer for the BBC Global News division. Richard qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte Haskins & Sells which is now part of PwC. Richard joined the BBC in 1997 as Head of Finance for Current Affairs and Business Programmes after being Finance Director at British Pathe plc. He became Finance Director of BBC News in 2005 and joined BBC World Service and Global News in 2008.
Dr Alison Evans
Alison Evans is an economist with over 25 years of experience working in international development. Alison joined Overseas Development Institute, the UK’s leading international development think tank, in 2006 as a Director of Programmes for Poverty and Public Policy, and became Director in May 2009.
Alison began her career teaching and researching development economics at the University of Sussex before moving to the World Bank and independent consultantancy. As ODI’s director, she continues to work on issues around aid, but also contributes to debate on a broad range of issues relating to international engagement in fragile states and policy coherence for development.

Lindsey North
Lindsey North is the Controller Legal/Rights of the BBC's Global News Division. She joined the BBC Corporate legal team in 1998, where she was responsible for all legal input into the BBC's UKTV channel joint venture with Telewest and its co-production and international channel arrangements with Discovery Communications. In 2004 she was appointed Head of Legal, BBC World Service. In 2006 she was appointed to Management Board and became Controller Legal/Rights of the Global News Division in March 2007.
