Admission to Graduate Program
Students who have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and wish to pursue a master’s degree in communication sciences and disorders at OSU may apply for admission to the graduate college. It is not necessary to have an undergraduate degree in communication sciences and disorders to pursue a masters degree, however, prerequisite course work must be completed before admission to the graduate program will be considered.
A 3.0 GPA in the undergraduate major, a combined verbal and quantitative GRE of 900, a verbal GRE of 450 and an analytical writing GRE of 3.5 are required for regular admission. Students who do not meet these requirements may be admitted on a provisional basis.
Admission is granted one time per year. The admission deadline for Fall, 2010 is February 15th. In order to apply for admission, please provide the following information:
- An online application
- A $40 application fee (sent to the graduate school)
- An official transcript from each institution previously attended (sent to the graduate school)
- Three letters of recommendation addressing your academic and/or clinical potential and a personal statement indicating why you wish to persue a graduate degree in CSD sent to The Graduate Coordinator, Hanner Department of Communication Disorders, Murray Hall, Stillwater, OK 74078
- GRE scored (Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing) sent directly from ETS using Institution Code 6546 and Department Code 0620
- International students or naturalized citizens of the U.S. whose native language is not English are also required to submit evidence of proficiency in both written and spoken English. The student must have a minimum score of 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and a minimum score of 60 on the Test of Spoken English (TSE). It is especially important that the student have readily intelligible spoken English because he/she will be conducting therapy session in English.
