iLearn: Communicating justice

How we work

Communicating justice website
Working in partnership with the International Center for Transitional Justice, and Search for Common Ground, we are training media professionals to raise public awareness, understanding and debate about the mechanisms of 'transitional justice' in Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Uganda.

iLearn is an important component of the initiative.

A dedicated site has been built to act as a resource toolkit for journalists covering complex issues relating to transitional justice, and to train them how to communicate these issues effectively to their audiences.

It features a glossary of legal terms, the Communicating Justice Handbook (developed by the BBC World Service Trust and ICTJ), as well as links, cases and survey reports.

iLearn modules on topics such as 'Reporting conflict' and 'Journalists' safety' are used alongside specially commissioned modules on 'Transitional Justice' and 'International court reporting'.
