Our work in Cambodia
The BBC World Service Trust is focusing on health, governance and human rights in Cambodia. We ran a three-year mass media campaign to improve sexual and child and maternal health, and are still producing three radio discussion programmes about sensitive health issues. We have also produced a feature film about human trafficking and a training programme designed to improve the management of the Commune elections in 2007. More about our work in Cambodia

We are working in partnership with Cambodian radio stations and a young team of Cambodian women to produce a radio programme designed to get 18-20 year old girls talking about reproductive and sexual health.  Read more
Two radio phone-in programmes encourage Cambodians to talk about taboo subjects
We are working in partnership with Radio National of Kampuchea to co-produce two live radio phone-in programmes, ‘Really?' and 'Real Men', that discuss sensitive issues such as sex outside marriage, condom use, HIV testing, domestic violence and the consequences of drug abuse.  Read more
Media campaign improves health in Cambodia
Working in partnership with the Cambodian government, Cambodian broadcasters and a range of international and local organisations, we produced a mass media campaign to help stop the spread of HIV and AIDS, improve care and support for people living with HIV, and improve the health of Cambodia's mothers and children.  Read more
Hospital soap changes attitudes and behaviour around HIV and AIDS
Working in partnership, we trained a young Cambodian team to produce the country’s first hospital soap opera, 'Rous Cheat Chivit' ('Taste of Life'). The programme aimed to change attitudes and behaviour around HIV and AIDS.   Read more
First Steps: improving child and maternal health
'First Steps' was Cambodia's first live radio call-in programme about child and maternal health in Cambodia. The programme was produced and presented entirely by women.  Read more
Mr Condom meets Jackie Chan
We worked in partnership with Cambodian radio and television stations to produce public service announcements to promote safer sex, challenge discrimination against people living with HIV and AIDS and raise awareness of critical maternal and child health issues.  Read more
Feature film warns audiences of the dangers of human trafficking
We worked in partnership with the International Labour Organisation and Cambodian media professionals to produce a feature film to alert Cambodian audiences to the dangers and realities of human trafficking. The film also provides information about the link between migration and trafficking.  Read more
Improving election procedures in Cambodia
Working in partnership with the National Election Commission of Cambodia and the United Nations Development Programme, we produced a training video to help Cambodian election officials prepare for and manage the Commune Elections in April 2007.  Read more
