The Civilian Response Corps is a group of civilian federal employees who are specially trained and equipped to deploy rapidly to provide reconstruction and stabilization assistance to countries in crisis or emerging from conflict. An innovative partnership, the Corps leverages the necessary range of expertise and experience from eight federal departments and agencies to accomplish the U.S. government’s various reconstruction and stabilization objectives.

Because of the complexities involved in conflict prevention and response, no single government entity can offer all of the relevant expertise necessary to achieve our reconstruction and stabilization objectives. In order to adequately address these complexities and leverage all available resources of the U.S. government to our missions, the Civilian Response Corps is comprised of a partnership of eight departments and agencies from around the federal government. Members of the Corps from all agencies adhere to a single Code of Conduct.
Corps members go through weeks of extensive training and are specially selected, prepared, and equipped to deploy and operate in hazardous and austere environments with little or no notice.
