Stability Using the full spectrum of development activities to promote stability, mitigate conflict, and bridge the gap between relief and development
Building on a wide range of experience and an in-depth understanding of conflict dynamics in crisis environments, DAI's Crisis Mitigation and Stability Operations practice has become a global leader in post-crisis assistance. We work with local communities and businesses to break cycles of violence, bridging the gap between short-term relief and long-term development initiatives. Our analytical services contribute a textured, case-by-case understanding of the stresses underlying individual conflicts. And our teams on the ground enable donor agencies to leverage peace processes by strengthening locally-driven violence mitigation efforts, in particular by providing economic recovery opportunities to stricken communities, most critically, jobs. Range of Services:
Crisis Analysis - investigating the root causes of conflict and analyzing the influence of cross-sectoral issues such as HIV/AIDS, trafficking, small-arms proliferation, and unequal access to political power and natural resources
Crisis Response - providing rapid response to crises in the form of quick deployment of staff, early local assessments, swift procurement of materials for beneficiaries, and expeditious interventions that mitigate and prevent community violence and support the stability, peace, reconciliation, and recovery of the population
Groundwork for Recovery - building local capacity and establishing long-term partnerships between community groups, local governments, donors, and private sector actors to lay the foundation for long-term development
