The Michelin has just released the Michelin Guide Tokyo Yokohama Kamakura 2011, featuring 46 hotels and 266 restaurants. Fifty four restaurants were given two stars, and 14 restaurants in Tokyo were given three stars. See this list of
Michelin Three Stars Tokyo Restaurants. The guidebook goes on sale in Japan on November 27, 2010.

The 118 feet high tree,
Universal Super Christmas Tree, has been illuminated every night at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. It's known as one of the tallest Christmas trees in Japan. This year marks the final season for the Universal Super Christmas Tree and the Christmas show titled
the Gift of Angels. The Gift of Angels is a 20 minute show takes place at the New York Area in the early evening. Universal Studios Japan's Christmas celebrations run through January 10, 2011.

Kyoto Tourism Council is holding the annual Kyoto Winter Special campaign from December 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011 to promote winter tourism in Kyoto.
Hanatoro, which are beautiful paper lantern illumination events, take place in Arashiyama from December 10-19, 2010 and in Higashiyama from March 12-21, 2011. Also, visitors can meet Japanese geisha by participating special events called "
Enchanting Maiko Event in Gion" take place at Yasaka Kaikan Hall.

President Obama visited the Great Buddha statue at Kotokuin Temple in Kamakura after the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit last Sunday.
Kamakura is located about 30 miles southwest of Tokyo and is a nice day trip destination to enjoy the atmosphere of old Japan. JR-East (Japan East Railway Company) is holding a hiking event called
"Ekinaka Hiking" in Kamakura on November 25, 2010. Free English maps will be provided at the reception.
