DAI Participates in AFRICOM Expo in Stuttgart, Germany
Author: DAI
Date: May 5, 2008

DAI last week participated in the AFRICOM/BTA Business Innovation Exposition in Stuttgart, Germany. Attracting more than 100 businesses, the April 30–May 1 Expo brought together government and the private sector to explore current thinking and innovation in the field of stability, security, transition, and reconstruction (SSTR).

General William Ward, commander of Africa Command, kicked off the Expo in the morning plenary session. "What's important is what we do to help the world in which we live to become more stable," he began. "I'm happy you have showed an interest to achieve that objective."

The exhibit hall featured 83 booths, including a DAI booth showcasing our capabilities in civil-military relations, SSTR, and geographic information systems. Among predominantly defense-oriented companies, DAI was the only firm presenting nontraditional security assistance as its core service area and accordingly garnered great interest from Expo participants, with more than 250 visitors eager to learn about DAI’s on-the-ground, community-based experience in post-conflict and transitioning countries.

The event was co-hosted by AFRICOM and the U.S. Department of Defense's Business Transformation Agency.
