About the Georgetown University search engine

As of August 2004, Georgetown University has updated its web search engine to use the Google Search Appliance. This update represents a significant investment in making our university web faster and easier to use.

The purpose of the university web search engine is to enable internal and external web users to quickly find relevant, commonly used university web pages. This includes the web pages of most official university offices.

The search engine collection is re-indexed nightly to make the latest changes and additions available to you.

The size of the search engine collection is limited. The following web sites are not indexed by the search engine:

  • Personal web pages of faculty, students, and staff
  • Student organization web sites
  • Database-driven web sites containing large amounts of research data

We welcome your feedback about our university web search engine.
