The Islamic Saudi Academy
The Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA) is a 1st-12th grade Boys’ and Girls’ day school located on Richmond Highway in Alexandria, VA.
Founded in 1984, the School is Fully Accredited by SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) and CITA (Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation).
In December 2008, ISA received authorization from the International Baccalaureate (IB) to offer the IB Diploma Programme to students in 11th and 12th grade.
ISA offers a U.S. college-prepatory curriculum with the addition of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies. In September 2009, our 11th class will also be students of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Also in September 2009, we will begin working toward implementing the IB Middle Years Program for our students in grades 6 through 10.
Delayed Openings and/or Closing Policies
In the event of inclement weather for Early Closing, Delayed Openings, and All Day Closings, ISA will follow the decision of Fairfax County Schools and will close or delay the same as Fairfax County Schools. Please monitor the following sources for our announcements:
All Schools and Offices will close at 12:00PM on Thursday 12/23/2010 for the Winter Break.
If One-Hour Delayed Opening: Main Campus will report one hour late at 9:00 a.m and Pope’s Head will report at 10:00 a.m
If Two-Hour Delayed Opening: Main Campus will open two hours late at 10:00 a.m.
Pope’s Head Campus will be closed
If Early Closing Due To Bad Weather: Check above sources for details and monitor the school website

We believe the IB curriculum offers the best preparation for our students to get into competitive universities and to pursue their career goals, not just as citizens of their home countries, but as citizens of the world.
The central goals of the programme are: To equip students with an education of the highest quality and equal to that of the best schools in the world; To prepare students intellectually to become life-long learners; To develop in students a strong sense of their own identity and culture; To develop their knowledge of and ability to communicate with other cultures; To make them aware of the interdependent relationship between our fragile planet and ourselves.
In addition to starting the Diploma Programme (DP) this fall, we have also begun our application for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6–10.
