Barak D. Hoffman
is the Executive Director of the Center for Democracy and Civil Society. Prior to coming to Georgetown, Dr. Hoffman was a research fellow at the Center on Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law at Stanford University. He has worked for the Federal Reserve, the United States Agency for International Development, and the United States Department of the Treasury. He received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, and his BA and MA in Economics from Brandeis University and Michigan State University, respectively.
