Browsing on Motorola DROIDs

Browsing the Web on Motorola DROIDs just got a little easier with the release of DROIDS Made Simple, a handy guide geared towards users of these popular phones. Chapter 11, in particular, concentrates on the DROID's built-in Browser app. It details how to navigate and zoom within Web pages, create and save bookmarks, view videos from within Browser, and save bookmarks as icons on your DROID's home screen. There are also rich visuals to guide you as you read.

2010 About.com Readers' Choice Awards: A Look Back

Starting on January 13 the nomination period for the 2011 About.com Readers' Choice Awards will begin, giving you the ability to submit your favorites in a number of categories including the best Web browser. While we wait with bated breath for the polls to open, let's take a look back at some of the winners from last year's awards.

In the browser-related categories, Opera Software took home trophies as both the Best Major Desktop Browser (Opera 10.x) and Best Mobile Browser (Opera Mini). Meanwhile, on the somewhat lesser known side of the coin, K-Meleon won Best Indepedent Browser honors by snatching up 48% of the vote.

Adblock Plus and NoScript claimed victory in the Best Overall Add-On and Best Privacy/Security Add-On categories, respectively. Rounding out the browser winners are YouTube HD Ultimate as the Best User Script and NFL's Indianapolis Colts - Official Football Boom! as Best Browser Theme.

Some interesting winners in other categories included Sprint's HTC Hero as Best Smartphone, Bejeweled as the Best Google Gadget, Miranda IM as Best IM Client, and Salon as the Best News Site.
