UPDATE 2: Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is reportedly in critical condition after being shot according to hospital representatives. At least 12 are wounded and 6 individuals have died in the shooting attack that took place at a local Safeway in Tuscon, Arizona on Saturday.
UPDATE 1: NPR is reporting:
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head by a gunman at a public event in Tucson on Saturday. There are conflicting reports about whether she was killed.
The Pima County, Ariz., sheriff's office told member station KJZZ the 40-year-old Democrat was killed. At least nine other people, including members of her staff, were injured.

AZ CENTRAL is reporting the following:
CNN is reporting that several people have been victims of a multiple fatal shooting in north Tucson and of them is Rep. Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona.
At least four people are dead, University Medical Center spokesman Darci Slaten said. They were among five to seven people who were being treated.
The Pima County Sheriff's Office confirmed that it is investigating a multiple shooting at a Safeway in northwest Tucson at Ina and Oracle roads.
