Toshiba jumped into the camcorder market last year with a series of budget-friendly 1080p camcorders. Their latest offering is the ultra-slim Camileo S30 - with a 3-inch touch-screen display, HDMI output and video light for $179. You can read the full review here.

Samsung's had something of an on-again, off-again relationship with the pocket camcorder at least when it comes to products destined for the U.S. market. Their newest entrant looks like it's here to stay - the durable W20o is waterproof up to nine feet and is also shock and dust proof. It records to microSDHC cards.
Features include:
- 1920 x 1080 recording in the H.264 format
- 5-megapixel CMOS sensor
- Aqua scene mode for underwater filming
- Built-in USB plug
- 2.3-inch LCD display

According to the research firm iSuppli, production of CMOS image sensors has been disrupted by the devastating quake in Japan on March 11. According to the report, it seems camera phones will take a bigger hit than camcorders (and CCD sensor supplies don't appear to be harmed).
