Jay Chou's fans were extremely vocal at the LA premiere of Columbia Pictures'
The Green Hornet, and during our interview on the green carpet just a simple wave from the Asian King of Pop caused the fans to erupt in screams. Chou's struggling to learn English but managed to make it through our interview needing help from his interpreter only once. Meanwhile red carpet premiere veteran
Cameron Diaz had no trouble at all working her way through interviews at the film's premiere, sharing with us what it was like to work on such a male-dominated set before heading in to take in the special screening of the PG-13 film.

Two very different comedies hit theaters this weekend in what's likely to be a tight race for box office supremacy. We finally get a chance to see just how well Seth Rogen can handle being an action hero in the year's first big action film,
The Green Hornet. And
The Dilemma, directed by Ron Howard and starring Vince Vaughn, Kevin James,
Jennifer Connelly,
Winona Ryder and
Channing Tatum, finds Vaughn starring as James' best friend and business partner who is stuck between a rock and a hard place as he tries to figure out whether to tell James his wife is cheating with a younger man.

The latest film from the team behind the
Saw franchise has been picked up by FilmDistrict. James Wan and Leigh Whannell's
Insidious, which was well received by the audience at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival, will be heading to theaters in wide release on
April 1st.
Oren Peli, Jason Blum and Steven Schneider produced
Insidious.
Patrick Wilson,
Rose Byrne, Barbara Hershey, Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson and Whannell star.
Wan and Whannell wrote and directed the haunted house film which FilmDistrict's President of Theatrical Distribution Bob Berney calls "this generation's
Poltergeist." CEO of FilmDistrict Peter Schlessel added, "James and Leigh are redefining the haunted house genre. By taking well-known horror movie conventions and elevating them to the next level, they've created a film that is fun, suspenseful and very, very scary."
In an
exclusive interview with Wan and Whannell at the SCREAM Awards, they told me that with
Insidious they wanted to make a "scary movie without blood and guts." Wan said, "
Insidious is a classic, old-fashioned, scary, haunted house ghost movie."
And Leigh Whannell revealed, "We're not trying to make people puke. We're not trying to make people turn away from the screen because there's gizzards and guts. We literally want to have people so scared that they want to leave the theater out of pure fear."
Insidious Official Synopsis:
"
Insidious is the terrifying story of a family who shortly after moving discover that dark spirits have possessed their home and that their son has inexplicably fallen into a coma. Trying to escape the haunting and save their son, they move again only to discover that it was not their house that was haunted."

A new 'shortlist' of potential actresses who could possibly star in
Christopher Nolan's third
Batman film,
The Dark Knight Rises, has emerged and the candidates listed are interesting batch. Of course the list doesn't mean these are Nolan's only options to play the two key female roles (one a love interest, one a villain), but
The Hollywood Reporter says these actresses are high on his list and will be testing for one of the two parts.
Keira Knightley, best known for the first three
Pirates of the Caribbean films, and Oscar co-host
Anne Hathaway are on Nolan's list. Also apparently ready to test are
Jessica Biel (
Blade: Trinity,
Valentine's Day) and
Prince of Persia/
Clash of the Titans'
Gemma Arterton (although she's going to be busy with
Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters).
Kate Mara (terrific in Brad Anderson's
Transsiberian) and 29 year old British newcomer Charlotte Riley (whose resume covers mostly TV work) are also going to be considered for
The Dark Knight Rises.
