The involvement in Vietnam started under the Eisenhower Administration; Nixon as V-P wanted to escalate and Eisenhower did not. The war started under a Republican watch, was, factually, expanded under Kennedy-Johnson. Johnson was trying to negotiate piece talks in 1968, but the South Vietnamese walked out because they were told they could get a better deal under Nixon. Nixon expanded the war into Cambodia. There is plenty of blame on both sides; let's just not be selective in our memories of what happened. Nixon was an intelligent and gifted man, but he also set the stage for the OPEC oil price escalation of the 1970's.

HIstory indeed is treating Nixon kinder than his contemporaries. Nixon is my favorite prez. I have freineds over in China thanks to him! I remember watching the Nixon service on TV back in 1994. That REALLY moved me. AND that man got his stroke on my 12th birthday. He is in Heaven now with Pat.

History will view former President Richard M Nixon in a positive light looking at his successes in his presidency and opening up our relations with China. The mainstream media and the Democratic Party blamed him for Vietnam when in fact JFK and LBJ(both of the Democratic Party) started all the mess. As for the Watergate scandal the media back then didn't really research their facts and if Foxnews had been around then it might've turned out differently. The media back then and today favor only the Democratic Party. When in fact the media should be the watchdogs for the people not just their favorite political party. With the Internet and Talk radio the media's audience share is dwindling as people want to know the truth.

Wow, I just watched Geoff Shepards presentation on the Watergate Mysteries and it simply reaffirmed what seemed obvious to me. Richard Nixon was victimized by his lame employees, Primarily John Dean, that hatched the breakin then attempted to cover up the breakin. The President of the United States took the fall for a crooked lawyer, John Dean.

just watched the film,"frost/nixon," I was born in 81 and despite the liberal hippy motivation or propoganda behind the film, i learned enough to look past watergate. Or that there was so much more to the man than one thing. if we can see how current gop leaders are treated by MSM, nixon wasn't as bad as BHO or LBJ or wilson. Despite the spin RMN would kick BHO in a debate.

This is a fascinating channel. It's interesting to hear these speakers talk about the Nixon presidency and the man, as they are likely to have insights and information you can't find elsewhere.
