Colour e-readers set for 2011 release

It is estimated that Amazon sold about eight million of its Kindle e-readers in 2010.

While not quite matching the iPad's level of global sales - an estimated 6.2 million units in just the last quarter of the year - the e-reader market is still a large one and further innovations are on their way.

Richard Taylor reviews the introduction of colour "digital ink" and considers whether it will challenge the ever-growing tablet market.
