On 23 June 2010, the IPCC announced that 831 highly qualified experts had been selected from among 3000 nominations.

AR5 Synthesis Report Outline
The AR5 Synthesis Report Scoping Document
(PDF) as agreed by Panel at the 32nd Session is now available. This outline was first
developed by experts at a Scoping Meeting held in Liege (Belgium) in August 2010; and was revised
and approved by governments in Busan (Republic of Korea) in October 2010.

The first AR5 Lead Author meetings are as follows for each Working Group (WG):
- WG I First Lead Author meeting, November 8-11 2010, Kunming (China)
- WG II First Lead Author meeting, January 11-14 2011, Tsukuba (Japan)
- WG III First Lead Author meeting, July 12-15 2011, Changwon City (Republic of Korea)

IPCC Fourth Assessment Report (AR4)

The three Working Groups full reports and the Synthesis Report, the final part of the AR4,
are available online (see here below). Hardcopies of the Summaries for Policymakers + Technical
Summaries are available for free in the 6 UN official languages upon request to the IPCC Secretariat.
Hardcopies of the full reports can be purchased from
Cambridge University Press.
A limited number of free copies are available for academic institutions from developing countries and
countries with economies in transition upon request to the Secretariat.
Unless otherwise stated, the information available on this website, including text, logos, graphics,
maps, images, audio clips or electronic downloads is the propriety of the IPCC and is protected by
intellectual and industrial property laws.
You may freely download and copy the material contained on this website for your personal,

The IPCC is pleased to announce that Mr. Gaetano Leone has been
appointed as new Deputy Secretary of the IPCC. He will join the IPCC
Secretariat on 1 January 2011

During the 32nd Plenary Session , Busan, Republic of Korea
Ismail A.R. El Gizouli of Sudan, previous Vice-Chair of Working Group III, was elected by consensus at the 32nd Session of the IPCC as Vice-Chair of the IPCC
At the same session, Francis Yamba from Zambia, was elected as Vice-Chair of Working Group III
