It is the same story across most of the European resorts at the moment. Milder weather and bright sunshine over the weekend and on Monday 17th January means the lower slopes are now suffering slightly. More snow is expected to replenish the pistes soon.

In Austria the high altitude resorts and those with glaciers are the place to go as the snow is much better up high. It is similar over the border in Switzerland. Whilst some of the lower slopes are becoming a little patchy, there is some great riding to be had higher up on hard packed pistes.

Italy seems to be faring better and, thanks to last week's snowfall, so is France. It is still wise to head high though where the best snow is.

It is bone chillingly cold on the east coast of America at the moment. -20C is fairly widespread and this is helping to maintain all the fresh snow that fell at the end of last week.

Milder weather in Canada brought wet snow to the lower slopes of many resorts, but if you head up high you will find plenty of powder in most places.
